Audiotool Sketch apk Description

Audiotool Sketch allows you to sequence sounds using emulations of three different classic devices. Make some beats with one of the drum machines and then move onto the bassline. Once you have finished building your sequences navigate to the overview and start switching up the patterns, add some delay or change the tempo, all in real time.

Each device includes the full range of parameters which would have been found on the original machines, this coupled with the multi-touch functionality makes it possible for the user to really control each device's output signal. Audiotool Sketch is built around the same audio engine as Audiotool and outputs full power audio.

Any tablet that shipped with Honeycomb should have no problem running Audiotool Sketch. The only phone which is currently capable of running the app is the Galaxy Nexus.

Audiotool Sketch uses Android's built-in authentication mechanism. This is more secure and consistent user experience. Unfortunately Android gives us no option other than getting access to all account data even though we only need to authenticate you with audiotool.com.

Why did we not opt-in for an alternative solution like other apps and do the account handling ourselves? First of all this is not as secure as using the AccountManager. As a user you cannot be sure that those other apps do not store your password as plain-text on the SD card. The second reason is that we want to allow background synchronization in the future so that the experience of sharing tracks between audiotool.com and Audiotool Sketch can happen seamlessly.

Therefore we went with the option of using the built-in system of managing accounts which requires those permissions.

We require full internet access because Audiotool Sketch can upload your tracks to audiotool.com which would not work without this permission.

The sketches you create can be saved on your SD card. That's why we need this permission.

While Audiotool Sketch is running we will not let the device go into sleep mode. We do this because some devices throttle the CPU in sleep mode and the audio playback would sound very bad. If you are doing a performance you would also not want your device to go randomly into sleep mode.
